Interested in helping ABATE of Nebraska pass LB 253?

You've come to the right place!

At this point in time, ABATE of Nebraska is NOT encouraging ANYONE to contact ANY Nebraska Senator about LB 253!

#1...Join the "Enews List"

Send an email to spotman@iowatelecom.net and ask to get on the list! You'll be one of the first to know when something happens and/or it's time to act!

YOU DO NOT have to be a member of ABATE of Nebraska to get on this list!

#2...Learn who your Senator is!

Find out how they have either voted or said they would vote on the issue of motorcycle helmets! (Go HERE)

Gather up ALL their contact info and put it all in an easy to find place so if you get a "call to action", you will be ready to go!

#3...Go to your district meeting!

Here you can learn from others about what's going on and share with others what's going on!

#4...Be a branch on a Calling Tree!

Each district is setting up a district wide "Calling Tree" whereby "branch" members will call other members in the District when there is a "call to action" and we need folk to contact their Senator!

#5...Be prepared to act!

Even though Committee Testimony is complete, these can still be used in an attempt to sway Senator's once the bill is being debated on the floor!

2 issues rose to the surface in the minds of some of the Senators after our successful Lobby Day:

1) Insurance
2) Tourism $

To that end, ABATE of Nebraska is asking ALL Nebraska motorcyclists for help...you do NOT have to be a member of ABATE of Nebraska to help.

ABATE of Nebraska is putting together written testimony from motorcyclists from across the state of Nebraska.

We are requesting (NOT mandating) that you include:

*Name and complete address with zip-code

*Legislative district

*How much $ do you have in your bike

*How much $ do you spend per person on an average day during a motorcycle trip

*Your profession

*How much insurance do you carry (both motorcycle and health insurance)

*Why do you want to relax the helmet law

(If your having trouble with reasons "why you want to relax the helmet law, here's some talking points you can use...please, do NOT be vulgar or belligerent)

1- You feel as a tax paying adult you should have a choice

2- You go to other states to ride and spend money

3- Helmets make it hard to hear

4- Helmets cut down your vision
